I'm an audio & video engineer currently working for the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. I also do freelance work, usually recording music. I've worked in DVD post-production on projects featuring Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Dave Koz & Phil Perry, and The Metropolitan Opera.
I've engineered recordings for Surrealestate, Super 300 Blues Band, Charlels Sharp, my own group Inner Lizard, and others. Currently I'm recording and playing with the band Charles, a wonderfully creative, indie band. In 2009 I helped with sound during The Actors' Gang WTF Festival where I worked with Jackson Browne, Tom Morello, Tenacious D, John Doe, Jill Sobule, Ben Gibbard, Serj Tankian, and many others.
I've been a guitarist with several groups and recently wrote music for by Bradley Rand Smith’s play "Daughter".
I'm on the board of the AVPA Foundation, a 501c3 organization supporting the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts at Culver City High School, and served for two years as Board President. I'm a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, and have been a volunteer representative for NARAS Grammy in the Schools and the Bose "In Harmony with Education" programs.
I love capturing and creating beautiful music and inspired performances. Great audio fidelity is very enjoyable too, but I'd rather hear a 50 year-old recording of Elmore James on a cassette tape than a high-fidelity, 24-bit, 192kHz digital recording of uninteresting music.
